Jouf University President Reviews the College of Business Annual Report and Highlights Its Role in Developing Talent and Enhancing the Competitiveness of the National Economy

His Excellency the President of Jouf University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, received the Dean of the College of Business, Dr. Mohammed bin Fahed Al-Sarhani, the College’s two Vice Deans, and the Heads of the Departments of Business Administration, Accounting, and Finance and Investment. During the meeting, the College’s Annual Report for the 1447 AH academic year was presented, highlighting its achievements and performance indicators in education, scientific research, quality and academic accreditation, and community service, alongside its future objectives and plans.

His Excellency reviewed the College’s progress in developing its academic system and aligning its programmes with economic transformations and labour-market demands. The College currently enrols 1,958 students, including 1,481 undergraduate and 477 postgraduate students. It offers four bachelor’s programmes, four postgraduate diploma programmes, and three executive master’s programmes, in addition to bridging and minor programmes.

The report demonstrated significant progress in academic quality, including the continued full accreditation of the Bachelor’s programmes in Business Administration and Accounting and the Executive Master of Business Administration programme. It also highlighted the completion of the accreditation procedures for the Finance and Investment programme. A total of 352 working hours were dedicated to the programme accreditation process, encompassing meetings and workshops involving faculty members, students, graduates, and employers.

Educational environment indicators showed strong results, with student satisfaction regarding their educational experience reaching 91%, while faculty satisfaction with the quality and adequacy of services stood at 94%. Graduation indicators showed that 522 students graduated from the College’s bachelor’s programmes, including 390 who completed their studies within the prescribed period, representing 74.71%. In addition, 30 students graduated from the Executive Master of Business Administration programme.

To enhance students’ readiness for the labour market, the College conducted 128 training courses benefiting 282 students in preparation for the “Jahiziyah” Readiness Assessments. The results showed a significant increase of 14.1 points in the performance of Marketing students and 11.7 points among Finance and Investment students, alongside improved results in Accounting. These outcomes reflect the impact of the training programmes on strengthening students’ knowledge and professional skills.

The report also revealed that the College published 140 scientific papers, including 27 indexed in Web of Science and 56 in Scopus, supported by an academic workforce of 99 faculty members. Two College faculty members were also included in the 2025 list of the world’s top 2% most influential scientists, reflecting the College’s growing research presence and the quality of its scholarly output.

In community service, the College implemented 73 community programmes and provided 203 volunteering opportunities. It also strengthened its professional partnerships through a cooperation agreement with the Saudi Organization for Chartered and Professional Accountants. Furthermore, the College organised more than 30 activities and events, participated in seven international awareness days and several national occasions, and recorded a number of student achievements, including winning the University Futsal Championship.

His Excellency the University President affirmed that the College of Business is a vital contributor to preparing national talent capable of keeping pace with economic transformations, enhancing institutional efficiency, and creating opportunities. He noted that the value of academic achievement is amplified when it translates into graduate readiness, high-quality applied research, and responsiveness
