Jouf University President, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, Chairs the Faculty Advisory Council and Discusses Mechanisms to Advance Scientific Research and Strengthen the University’s Distinguished Global Ranking
In line with Jouf University’s commitment to reinforcing its pioneering role in scientific research and innovation, His Excellency the University President, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, chaired the meeting of the Faculty Advisory Council, attended by a number of academic and research experts. The meeting discussed mechanisms to develop scientific research, overcome challenges, and enhance the university’s standing in global academic rankings, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.


The council reviewed the key challenges faced by faculty members in the field of research, along with practical solutions to address them, through:
- Providing a stimulating research environment characterized by flexibility and strong institutional support.
- Encouraging publication in prestigious international journals indexed in leading global databases.
- Enhancing financial and logistical support programs for priority national research projects.
- Expanding international research collaborations to strengthen the university’s academic reputation.
- Focusing on applied and innovative research that contributes to community service and sustainable development.
The meeting further emphasized that developing faculty skills and capacities is central to raising the efficiency of academic and research performance, through:
- Implementing specialized training programs in scientific publishing and international peer review.
- Organizing workshops on research ethics and modern methodologies.
- Supporting initiatives that strengthen innovation skills and entrepreneurial research leadership.
- Encouraging faculty members to employ modern technologies and artificial intelligence in their research.
During the session, His Excellency the University President underscored the importance of regular meetings with the advisory council, affirming that the university places great trust in its members to help shape its academic and research future. He noted that research is given top priority in the university’s strategic plan, as a fundamental pillar of academic excellence and innovation. He further stressed the university’s determination to remove all barriers facing researchers and provide them with full support to achieve high-quality scientific outputs that contribute to raising Jouf University’s global ranking.
Prof. Al-Shaya added that the university is equally keen on empowering faculty members to enhance their skills and capabilities through innovative initiatives and training programs, which strengthen their pioneering role in serving society and support the Kingdom’s drive toward building a competitive knowledge-based economy aligned with Vision 2030.


He emphasized that the university’s efforts are fully aligned with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in enhancing the quality of higher education, supporting scientific research and innovation, and contributing to the building of a leading knowledge society capable of competing globally.
The meeting concluded with recommendations aimed at increasing research productivity, intensifying international partnerships, and fostering innovation in areas of national priority, while emphasizing teamwork to achieve the university’s vision and mission, and consolidating its position as a distinguished academic institution that keeps pace with the Kingdom’s developmental transformation.
