Jouf University Council Holds Its First Session of Year 1447
Jouf University Council convened its first session of the academic year 1447H, chaired by the University President, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, with the attendance of the University’s vice presidents, college deans, and deanship representatives. The Council reviewed its agenda and deliberated on several key issues related to academic programs, agreements, and strategic partnerships.


At the outset, Prof. Al-Shaya extended his highest appreciation and gratitude to the wise leadership for its unwavering support of higher education across the Kingdom. He affirmed that the Council’s resolutions stem from a deep commitment to advancing academic programs, strengthening national and international partnerships, and contributing to sustainable development. He also welcomed the Council members, underscoring the University’s steadfast commitment to its strategic plan, built on effective governance and forward-looking planning.
The President emphasized that the matters approved during the session represent significant and qualitative steps that embody the University’s ambition to prepare highly qualified Saudi graduates—academically and professionally—who will play an active role in the nation’s development journey.
The Council addressed a number of agenda items and adopted resolutions aimed at enhancing the University’s academic and administrative ecosystem, ensuring the quality of its educational and research outputs. The most notable decisions included:
- Approval of diploma programs at the Applied College. This initiative reflects the University’s continuous pursuit of aligning its educational outcomes with labor market requirements, providing new pathways for students to acquire practical skills in applied and technical fields essential for both the local and regional markets, thereby contributing to the national development agenda.
- Approval of the executive program agreement with the Ministry of Defense for sponsoring and qualifying nursing staff holding post-secondary diplomas to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing Science at Jouf University. This initiative seeks to elevate the competencies of healthcare professionals and enhance their skills, ultimately improving the quality of healthcare services across the Kingdom.
- Approval of funding initiatives for authoring and translating books. This program aims to enrich the Arab academic library with authoritative scholarly works, provide contemporary academic resources to support the teaching and learning process, and expand access to high-quality knowledge in multiple languages, thereby strengthening the University’s academic standing locally and internationally.
- Approval of a cooperation agreement between the University and the Social Development Bank, designed to advance entrepreneurship, innovation, and community empowerment, while creating opportunities for students and graduates to transform ideas into impactful initiatives.
- Deliberation on various scholarship matters, with appropriate decisions taken.
- Discussion of faculty-related issues, with resolutions adopted in accordance with relevant rules and regulations.


Concluding the session, Prof. Al-Shaya affirmed that these resolutions and agreements are aligned with the University’s strategic plan and the broader objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. He stressed that Jouf University remains committed to continually enhancing its academic and research environment, deepening national and regional partnerships, and serving as a driving force in building human capital and preparing graduates who are competitive and capable of contributing meaningfully to the sustainable development of the Al-Jouf region and the Kingdom at large.
