Under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, Jouf University celebrated the winners of the Holy Qur’an and Sunnah Competition for the Academic Year 1447 AH.
In a Ramadan atmosphere filled with faith, and in a solemn academic scene where the spirituality of the Qur’an harmonized with the University’s educational mission, Jouf University, in the presence of its President, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, held a ceremony honoring the winners of the annual Holy Qur’an and Sunnah Competition for the academic year 1447 AH. The competition was conducted from 7 to 9 Ramadan 1447 AH and was jointly organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs and the College of Sharia and Law, with distinguished participation reflecting students’ awareness and pride in their Islamic and national identity.
This competition represents an extension of the University’s approach in integrating academic excellence with value-based grounding, embodying its mission to build well-rounded student personalities—academically, intellectually, and ethically—thereby strengthening its role as a leading educational institution that contributes to shaping conscious individuals capable of contributing to their nation’s development with moderation and a strong sense of belonging.
Preparations for the competition began at the start of the first semester of the academic year 1447 AH. A comprehensive implementation plan was developed, including early announcements, opening registration in January 2026, and forming organizing and judging committees from the Deanship of Student Affairs and the College of Sharia and Law. Communication channels were activated to respond to students’ inquiries and facilitate their participation.
The organizers also assessed the initiative’s impact through a dedicated participant survey to gather development suggestions, reflecting the University’s adoption of continuous improvement and sound governance in managing student activities. In preparation for the Qur’an track, participants were trained through the College of Sharia and Law’s electronic recitation platform, providing a flexible and structured learning environment.
The competition consisted of two main branches:
First: The Holy Qur’an Branch, which included three tracks:
• Full memorization of the Holy Qur’an.
• Memorization of fifteen parts (half of the Qur’an).
• Memorization of five parts.
Second: The Sunnah Branch, which included one track:
