Jouf University Council Holds Its Fifth Session, Approves Several Academic and Executive Regulations, and Enhances International Cooperation
The Jouf University Council held its fifth session for the academic year 1447 AH, chaired by His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, and attended by the Council members, including the Vice Presidents, Deans, and other members. The session discussed a number of agenda items related to developing the academic system, regulating institutional rules and bylaws, updating applied pathways, and strengthening institutional cooperation and partnerships, contributing to institutional development and improving university performance efficiency in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 The Council began its session by commending the academic and organizational achievements accomplished by the University, as well as its continuous efforts to develop its systems and institutional regulations. The Council emphasized that these achievements reflect the University’s commitment to enhancing performance efficiency, improving the quality of educational outputs, and fostering a university environment capable of growth and excellence As part of the University’s interest in developing its academic system and diversifying its educational programs, the Council recommended approval of the regulations governing self-designed degree programs. This aims to organize the mechanisms for establishing such degrees and ensure their alignment with developmental needs and labor market requirements The Council also recommended approval of the executive and procedural regulations for utilizing the services of faculty members as non-full-time consultants for government entities and start-up organizations, with the objective of benefiting from academic expertise, enhancing knowledge transfer, and supporting innovation and community partnerships.
In the context of developing applied pathways and improving the student experience, the Council approved updates to the academic regulations and procedures for students enrolled in the University’s Applied College. This ensures clarity of educational pathways, enhances applied training efficiency, and achieves alignment with labor market requirements During the session, the Council discussed and approved the executive regulations governing scientific societies at the University, contributing to organizing their activities, activating their scientific and research roles, and strengthening their contribution to serving the academic community The Council also approved a Memorandum of Understanding between Jouf University and Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University in the People’s Republic of China, as part of the University’s efforts to expand international cooperation, exchange academic and research expertise, and enhance its global presence.
