Projects

Histopathological changes induced by Olive oil and its role in the management of oxidative stress to combat obesity
2015 - 2016
Effect of Olive oil on the Histoarchitectural, Histochemical and Ultrastructural changes in liver and aorta caused by saturated high-fat diet
2014 - 2015

Background and Aims. Olive oil is known to have potential therapeutic effects like regulation of lipid metabolism and antioxidant properties. Non Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease is characterized by the triacylglycerol accumulation inside liver cells. The aim of the present study is to access the effect of Olive oil supplementation against high fat diet induced fatty liver disease in mice and also to access the response in the aorta.

Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells protect renal function in a rat model of methotrexate nephrotoxicity: Mechanistic and computational analysis
2021 - 2022

Background: The nephrotoxicity of methotrexate (MTX) is observed in high-dose therapy. Moreover, low-dose MTX therapy for rheumatic diseases is debatable and claimed to cause renal impairment. This study aimed at studying the effect of metho-trexate in low doses and for a long period on rat kidneys and assessing the efficacy of Adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (AD-MSCs) and Platelet rich plasma (PRP) for attenuating this effect.
