The Establishment of the Sharia Program:

The Bachelor’s Program in Sharia at the College of Sharia and Law, Jouf University, was established in 1433 AH with the aim of fulfilling a clear mission and lofty objectives that preserve Islamic identity and align with societal needs and national directions. The program contributes to the preparation of male and female students in the sciences of Islamic Sharia, related foundational disciplines, and legal knowledge, while enhancing their research skills and practical and field experience, and instilling noble Islamic values within them. This enables graduates to attain an accurate understanding of Sharia texts and to apply them in practical life characterized by moderation and balance across various fields of community service, such as education, the judiciary, issuing fatwas, imamate, preaching, Sharia consultation, legal practice, and other related areas.

The program is distinguished by an integrated organizational structure that includes a range of academic, administrative, advisory, and professional committees. All its operations are governed by approved regulations and their executive bylaws, and it carries out its tasks within the four-stage quality cycle, beginning with planning, followed by implementation, evaluation, and culminating in improvement and development. The program regulates its plans through approved performance indicators, measured according to a specific timeline, with all program affiliates in both male and female sections contributing to their implementation.

The program is keen on conducting surveys of stakeholders, including students, faculty members, graduates, and employers, in addition to undertaking benchmarking activities, in order to benefit from them in evaluation and improvement processes. This approach supports graduates with up-to-date knowledge, skills, and values that keep pace with labor market developments and meet its requirements. Accordingly, the program has updated its study plan several times, including revisions to course content, learning outcomes, graduate attributes, and teaching and learning outputs.
