Under the chairmanship of His Excellency the President of Jouf University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, the Supreme Committee for Electronic Transactions held its ninth meeting.

As part of its strategic commitment to advancing digital transformation and consolidating e-governance, Jouf University—represented by the Deanship of E-Learning and Digital Transformation—convened the ninth meeting of the Supreme Committee for Electronic Transactions, chaired by His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, with the participation of the committee members.

The meeting comes as an extension of the institutional approach adopted by the University to develop its electronic transactions ecosystem, enhance digital performance efficiency, and strengthen integration among various sectors, thereby improving the quality of services provided to beneficiaries and achieving institutional sustainability. This aligns with the University’s strategic objectives and the goals of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in the areas of digital transformation, human capacity building, and improving government performance efficiency.

The meeting agenda included discussions on several key issues related to digital governance and information security. Members reviewed the latest updates of the National Cybersecurity Authority index, presented by the University’s Cybersecurity Department, as part of efforts to enhance compliance with national standards, raise the readiness of digital systems, protect data and information, and ensure the continuity of digital operations in accordance with best practices.

The committee also discussed updates on the Webometrics ranking of Jouf University’s electronic portal and reviewed the results of the 2025 Digital Transformation Measurement Index, under the supervision of the Deanship of E-Learning and Digital Transformation. These efforts aim to strengthen the University’s digital presence, improve user experience, and enhance competitiveness at the local and international levels, reflecting the University’s institutional image and its academic and research standing.

His Excellency the President of the University emphasized that his chairmanship of the Supreme Committee for Electronic Transactions stems from the University’s commitment to direct oversight of digital transformation initiatives, strengthening coordination among relevant entities, and accelerating progress in digital projects to achieve system integration and elevate the quality of electronic services provided to University affiliates and the wider community.

He noted that digital transformation is no longer an option but a core strategic pathway to achieving institutional excellence, improving performance efficiency, and maximizing impact. He affirmed that Jouf University continues to develop its digital infrastructure, strengthen cybersecurity, and adopt innovative technological solutions, in support of Saudi Vision 2030 and the transition toward an effective and sustainable digital government.

This meeting reflects Jouf University’s dedication to building an integrated digital ecosystem based on governance, transparency, and cybersecurity, contributing to an improved university quality of life, the delivery of reliable and smart electronic services, and enhanced readiness to keep pace with rapid technological changes—supporting the University’s academic, research, and community mission and reinforcing its position as a leading institution in digital transformation among Saudi universities.
