The College of Applied Medical Sciences celebrates Down Syndrome through the event "Abilities, not Disabilities," in collaboration with Ayadi Najd Center
The College of Applied Medical Sciences organized an awareness event titled "Down Syndrome: Abilities, Not Disabilities," in support of its role in community service and in observance of international health days related to people with disabilities.
The event was held in collaboration with Ayadi Najd Daycare Center and aimed to highlight the abilities of individuals with Down Syndrome, emphasize the importance of their inclusion in society, and correct misconceptions about disability by shedding light on their developmental, educational, and social aspects.
Active attendance and remarkable engagement from visitors
The event was distinguished by the attendance of the college’s staff, students, and several beneficiaries and families from the Ayadi Najd Center. Visitors toured the awareness booths that provided information about Down Syndrome, optimal educational and behavioral approaches, and key rehabilitation services offered to this group.
The event also included interactive activities for children, a special corner showcasing the talents and abilities of individuals with Down Syndrome, as well as the distribution of souvenirs and opportunities for attendees to engage in awareness discussions and dialogues — all contributing to promoting acceptance of differences and fostering a culture of empowerment.
