Dental Research Team Shines at the 15th Scientific Forum
In an academic achievement that reflects the excellence of Jouf University students and the University's leading role in promoting scientific research and innovation, students from the College of Dentistry made a distinguished contribution to the 15th Scientific Forum through their participation as an integrated research team. Their research projects addressed important topics in oral health and dentistry, contributing to the advancement of clinical practice and the enhancement of quality of life, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasizes research, innovation, and the continuous improvement of healthcare services.
The research team consisted of:
-Munirah Saleh Al-Abed.
-Haya Abdulrahman Al-Rais.
-Almas Bassam Al-Joufi.
The team participated in the Quality of Life Track – Quality of Life Research Pathway (Undergraduate Level) with a research project entitled:
Influence of Alumina Addition on Surface Properties and Durability of Denture Bases
This study investigated the effect of alumina incorporation on the surface properties and durability of denture base materials, with the aim of enhancing their functional performance and extending their service life, ultimately contributing to improved patient quality of life.
The same team also participated in the Scientific Research Track – Health Sciences Pathway (Undergraduate Level) with a research project entitled:
(Assessment of the Fracture Resistance of PEEK Substructures Veneered with Various Materials: An In Vitro Study)
This study focused on evaluating the fracture resistance of PEEK-based dental substructures veneered with different materials. The findings support the growing adoption of advanced biomaterials that offer more efficient and sustainable restorative solutions in prosthodontic dentistry.
These distinguished research contributions highlight the support and opportunities provided by Jouf University to empower its students to engage in scientific research and scholarly activities. Such initiatives strengthen students’ research capabilities and reflect the University's commitment to developing highly qualified national talents capable of contributing to the Kingdom’s scientific, healthcare, and knowledge-based development.
