Through multiple activities, the College highlights its role in supporting and empowering persons with disabilities
In support of the university’s ongoing efforts to support and empower persons with disabilities, and as part of its participation in the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the College organized a series of diverse events and community awareness campaigns that reflect its human commitment and align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in empowering this group and integrating them into society. The activities included a number of specialized programs aimed at raising awareness and enhancing the role of physical therapy in the fields of rehabilitation and re‑empowerment.
An awareness campaign on Jada Elyan introducing the role of physical therapy in serving persons with disabilities
The College organized an awareness campaign on Jada Elyan in partnership with the Deanship of Student Affairs to enhance awareness of the vital role of physical therapy in supporting and rehabilitating persons with disabilities. The campaign included a series of specialized booths, such as a disability and physical therapy awareness booth, a therapeutic consultation booth, and a clinical examination booth, with the participation of faculty members, and was attended by representatives of associations caring for persons with disabilities, reflecting the integration of community efforts to support and empower this group.
An educational visit spreading awareness and joy to children at the Association for Persons with Disabilities
The College also organized an outreach field visit to the Association for Children with Disabilities (STEP), during which the College team delivered educational programs addressing motor disabilities in children and the role of physical therapy in their rehabilitation. The visit also included specialized awareness content on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Down syndrome, and autism, in addition to engaging interactive activities that helped bring joy to the children and enhance their participation.
Awareness lectures in schools enhance students’ understanding of disability and the role of physical therapy
Within the framework of community partnership, College staff delivered awareness lectures in public schools that introduced the concept of disability and the role of physical therapy in rehabilitation, featuring visual presentations and educational competitions to enhance students’ awareness of disability.
Scientific paper and awareness booths highlight the role of physical therapy in addressing disability challenges
The College presented a scientific paper at the General Directorate of Education in Al‑Jouf region highlighting the pivotal role of physical therapy in addressing disability challenges, its impact across various stages of rehabilitation, and its contribution to raising community awareness of its importance. The paper was delivered by Dr. Samaher Al‑Owaidah, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences, who reviewed key contemporary practices and the role of specialized professionals in supporting and empowering persons with disabilities.
Interactive awareness campaign introducing school students to physical therapy and rehabilitation laboratories
The College also organized an awareness campaign in the lobby of the College of Applied Medical Sciences and its laboratories targeting school students, featuring introductory booths, interactive activities, and educational competitions, along with a field tour of the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Sciences laboratories to familiarize students with training pathways and educational facilities.

These activities come as part of Jouf University’s efforts to strengthen its social role and enhance partnerships in serving persons with disabilities and their families, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, which emphasizes empowering people and improving quality of life for all members of society.
