Chaired by the university president, Prof Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, Jouf University’ Council Held Its Ninth Session, and Approved a Number of Recommendations

Jouf University’ Council held its ninth session for the academic year 1446 AH, chaired by His Excellency, the University’ President, Prof. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shaya, and attended by the Council members including the university vice presidents, college deans, and representatives from relevant authorities. During the session, several strategic topics were discussed, representing key themes in the university' academic and institutional development process. The Council took the necessary decisions, reflecting the university' commitment to raising the level of educational, research, and administrative performance, in line with the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

The most prominent outcomes of the session were as follows:

  • Approval of the academic calendar for the academic year 1447 AH, ensuring the smooth running of the educational process in accordance with the highest standards of quality and academic effectiveness. This will contribute to strengthening the principle of advance planning and enhancing the efficiency of implementing academic and administrative programs and activities.
  • Approval of a memorandum of cooperation with the University of Colorado Boulder in the United States of America, which aims to expand scientific and research partnerships and enhance academic exchange opportunities, contributing to supporting the university's research excellence and leadership at the international level.
  • Approval of a memorandum of understanding with the Northern Border University, within the framework of strengthening local cooperation between Saudi universities, exchanging academic expertise and resources, and promoting national integration in the field of higher education and scientific research.
  • Approval of the curriculum for several self-designated sub-programs within the university, reflecting the university' commitment to keeping pace with scientific and professional developments and aligning their outcomes with the needs of the labor market through more specialized and flexible programs that focus on efficiency and innovation.
  • Adopting the university' intellectual property rights policy, affirming its commitment to protecting the moral and material rights of inventors and researchers and stimulating a culture of innovation and creativity within the university community, thus supporting the building of a sustainable and impactful research system.
  • Discussion of a number of topics related to faculty members and making appropriate decisions regarding them.

During the session, His Excellency, the University’ President emphasized that these decisions are an extension of the University' commitment to developing its educational and administrative structure and achieving institutional excellence in various fields. This is in line with the aspirations of the Wise Leadership for the future of higher education and contributes to achieving the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 by supporting the innovation and research system and enabling universities to perform their developmental role efficiently and competently.
