This course will provide knowledge on major classes of chemicals of environmental concern, the properties of these chemicals, how they are released and transported in the environment, how they interact with living systems to cause a toxic response. The course will involve other topics like drug abuse, Toxidromes, Antidotes, food poisoning, teratogenicity, chemical carcinogens, heavy metal poisoning and first aid measures.
