Students develop skills in the selection, use and application of textiles and finishes specified in interior design. Specifications criteria on these textiles and finishes are analyzed according to building codes, performance testing, industry and manufactures' standards. Through student research and industry input, students study physical properties, performance criteria, practical applications, ecological issues, costing and aesthetics as factors in the decision-making process regarding specification of finishes and textiles, in the interior design profession.
