Course Description
This course mainly deals with the study the Instrumental methods of analysis and their
application in pharmaceutical monitoring focusing on the following topics: introduction to spectral methods of analysis, the interaction between different kinds of
electromagnetic radiation and matter and its importance of in qualitative and quantitative
chemical analysis. Quantitative analysis using ultraviolet and visible absorption spectroscopy and its pharmaceutical applications, fluorescence spectroscopy, IR, NMR spectroscopy Introduction to electroanalytical methods of analysis. General basics for different separation techniques – Separation by migration of electrons -principles and theories of chromatographic separation - thin layer chromatography, High performance liquid chromatographic (HPLC) -Ion Exchange Chromatography (IEC) and its pharmaceutical applications.
