Participation of the College of Business in a meeting entitled “Business Innovation Opportunities in Al-Jouf Region”

As part of enhancing the innovation ecosystem and entrepreneurship, the College of Business participated in a meeting titled “Commercial Innovation Opportunities in the Al-Jouf Region” on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at the Al-Jouf Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority (Monshaat). The college was represented by Dr. Mohammed Thani Alhumaid, Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Wafa Naif Alwakid, a faculty member in the Department of Business Administration.

The meeting focused on two main themes:
1. Commercial Innovation Fields in Al-Jouf Region – This segment highlighted sustainable development opportunities, smart agriculture, food products, and eco-cultural tourism in the region. Additionally, it addressed locally supported manufacturing industries and ways to leverage technology and innovation to support these sectors.
2. University Initiatives to Support Innovation Opportunities – This section showcased major projects and initiatives, including the “Al-Jouf Innovates” Forum for national industry, a research partnership initiative with the innovative industrial sector, the Sustainable Research Visions Initiative, and the Human Capacity Development Project for Sustainable Growth. Discussions also covered activities related to the Prince Nawaf bin Abdulaziz Chair for Sustainable Development and women’s empowerment programs in innovation.
This meeting is part of ongoing collaborative efforts to enhance innovation opportunities and develop the business environment in the region, contributing to the achievement of Saudi Vision 2030.
