This department was established in the College of Science at Jouf University in 1424/1425 AH, and was then merged with the College of Applied Medical Sciences after its establishment. The department aims to qualify trained Saudi cadres to perform technical work in clinical, educational and research medical laboratories through academic programs that include theoretical and practical scientific aspects. The program includes courses in anatomy, histology, pathology, hematology, histopathology and cytology, medical biochemistry, clinical chemistry, bacteriology, mycology, virology, parasitology, immunology, medical terminology, public health, cellular and molecular biology, enzymology, genetics, genetic engineering, laboratory management, research project, and safety. In addition, the department is committed to enhancing technical skills in laboratories by providing training courses and workshops for specialists and laboratory technicians. The department operates two different programs, which are the Bachelor's program and the Master's program.
