Course Description
This course aims to introduce students to psychological counseling methods, including their history, need, advantages, and disadvantages. It covers different types of counseling groups, including direct and indirect counseling, behavioral counseling, individual and group counseling. The course also addresses the effectiveness of groups and group leadership, leadership styles in group counseling, as well as the personality traits and skills required of a group leader. Additionally, it explores the basic procedures in group counseling, such as forming the counseling group, advertising the service, selecting appropriate individuals for the group, determining the method of participation, and deciding the number of sessions, their duration, and location. The course also covers preparing group members for participation, the stages of the group counseling process, including the initial, transition, performance, and final stages.
