As part of the university' commitment to achieving the goals of the Kingdom Vision 2030, by instilling the values of national identity and fostering the sense of belonging among students and members of the academic community, this will contribute to building a generation aware of its responsibilities toward its homeland.; Jouf University, represented by the Prince Nawaf bin Abdulaziz Chair for Sustainable Development, organized a series of national events and a panel discussion titled "Banner of Glory: The Saudi Flag and Its Role in Promoting National Belonging.", as apart of the university' efforts to enhance national awareness and instill the values of loyalty and belonging among its members.


The session was attended by a large group of faculty members, administrative staff, and students, moderated by Mr. Zaid bin Mazid Al-Ruwaili,. In the session, Dr. Sultanah bint Abdul Musleh Al-Badawi, Associate Professor at the College of Education and former member of the (Shura) Counseling Council, spoke discussing what Saudi Flag Day represents for every Saudi citizen, considering it a symbol of national unity and sovereignty, and the values it represents that reflect the identity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, derived from Islamic law.
In addition, she addressed the stages of the flag's historical development and the most prominent characteristics that distinguish it from other flags. She also highlighted the most prominent provisions stipulated in the Saudi Flag Law and the regulations and conditions for the use of the flag, which include respecting it and protecting it from any abuse. She also highlighted the roles that government institutions and others must play regarding the Saudi flag, including promoting respect for the Saudi flag and spreading its culture among generations, and organizing awareness-raising events and activities to educate society about the history and symbolism of the Saudi flag.


The university' activities, as part of its celebration of the Flag Day, also included a symposium titled "Saudi Flag Day: Identity, Loyalty, Pride, and Belonging," organized by the Intellectual Awareness Department. The symposium covered a number of topics:
- The history of the Saudi flag and the stages of its development
- The Saudi flag (symbol and meaning)
- The university' role in promoting national identity
Dr. Fakhriya bint Abdullah Al-Jufi and Dr. Wadha bint Sardhi Al-Shammari emphasized in their remarks that the Saudi flag is one of the most important symbols of the state and its sovereignty, as it carries profound connotations that reflect national unity. It is proudly raised at local and international forums, standing as a testament to the Kingdom's renaissance and pioneering development. The symposium also included a visual presentation on the history of the Saudi flag from its inception to the present day, highlighting its significance and symbolism.


The university' celebration of this occasion comes as part of its efforts to promote national culture, enhance national awareness, instill the values of loyalty and belonging, and link academic and community activities and events to the important national occasions as a goal of its strategic plan.
