Course Description
The course covers the following main topics - in detail: The emergence of the science of interpretation and its importance, its history in different eras: the era of prophecy, the Companions and the Followers, the era of codification in interpretation, defining the characteristics of the interpreter and his conditions and the sciences he needs, and the divisions of interpretation in terms of its methods: analytical, thematic, general, and comparative, with a definition of each division and a review of the most important works written in it, and the divisions of interpretation in terms of the methods of the interpreters, which include doctrinal, linguistic, scientific, and jurisprudential interpretation. The student also learns about the most important deviant trends in interpretation.
