Course Description
This studio moves on from innovation to a Place/Technology project that focuses on a physical context in addition to advanced modern technology and smart systems. Design investigations of spaces of increasing scale and complexity articulated by the interaction of individual and their working needs. Emphasis is placed on the space planning being influenced by smart materials, systems, and structure as aspects of spatial design. The course will involve design of working place interiors that require high-tech needs. This course also involves understanding how organizational structure and activities shape interior space and how to design for the needs of both individuals and institutions. This type of studio project will require programming/research to understand organizational structure and activities as well as the individual and collective needs of the users.
