Interactive assignment:

  • Steps to create an interactive assignment:
 

  1. From the course menu, click on Assignment, from Assessments, click on Test.

     

  2. From the Test Creation page, click on the 'Create' button in the Add Test section."

 

  1. Enter Test Name, description, and instructions (if available) on the test information page, then click the 'Submit' button."

 

Creating and Editing Questions

From the test you added, you could create a new question or upload questions from an external file, you can also delete or edit any question that added.

 

To create a new question from the test Canvas, hover over 'Create Question' and select the question type.

 

 Creating a True/False Question

 

  1. From the list of question types, select the True/False question type.
  2. The Create/Edit Question page will appear. Enter the "question text."

  3. Select the "answer orientation" as vertical or horizontal on the screen.

     

  4. Select the 'correct answer' for the question.

     

  5. Add comments for the student's correct and incorrect answers (optional) and click Submit.

 

Creating a Multiple Choice Question:

 

  1. From the list of question types, select the Multiple Choice question type.
  2. Enter the question text at The Create/Edit Question page.

 

  1. Select the method for displaying answer numbering, either numbers or letters. 
  2. Choose the answer orientation as vertical or horizontal on the screen. 

  3. Choose to display answers in random order for each attempt at the test. 

 

  1. Select the "number of answers" available for this question. 

  2. Enter the options (each answer has a text box), then select which one is the correct answer for the question.

     

  3. Add comments for the student's correct and incorrect answers (optional) and click Submit.

 

Adding Grading to Questions

Once you finish adding the questions, the Test Dashboard page will appear, containing the questions that added.

 

  1. Click on the Points and enter the score for this question, and then click "Enter".
  2. After finishing adding the grade for all the questions, click Submit.
Making the Interactive Assignment Available to Students

 

  1. From the Add Test, select the Test you created, and then click 'Submit.

     

  2. From the test information, add the test name and a description for it.

  3.    Choose open test in new window or not.

  4. Select the availability option for students.
  5. Activate the Announcement to notify students about the assignment.
  6. Specify the number of attempts allowed to complete the interactive assignment, knowing that the default system setting allows one attempt only.

  7. Select the option to force completion if you want the student to complete the assignment in one session (once they exit the answer page, they cannot return to it).

     

  8. Set expected completion time. Selecting this option also records completion time for this test. Students will see the timer option before they begin the test.

  9. Specify the start and end date and time for the test available in the system.

 

  1. Select how the questions should be Present on the screen:
  • All at once: Present the entire test on one screen.
  • One at a time: Present one question at a time.
  • Prohibit Backtracking: Prevent changing the answer to a question that has already been submitted.

  1. Randomize questions for each test attempt.

  2. After finishing, click 'Submit' to save and make it available to students.
