Infection prevention and control (IPC) is an applied course that focus on advance knowledge and skills in infection prevention and control in present-day healthcare practice, which affects all patient care activities in healthcare settings. IPC, including prevention of communicable diseases and the spread of antimicrobial resistance, which is an essential component of healthcare quality and patient safety. In this course, students will learn how and why healthcare-associated infections (HAIs) occur and how this course reduces their risk and spread. Effective course includes building a program with all healthcare personnel (HCP) playing their part to prevent the spread of pathogens and antimicrobial resistance.
