This course aims to encourage students to apply medicinal herbs to treat and prevent various diseases. The main constituents, mechanisms of action, contraindications, adverse effects, and drug interactions will be studied. It will deal with medicinal herbs affecting the central nervous system, cardiovascular system, digestive system, hepatic disorders, and immune system; it will also deal with herbs possessing antioxidant, anticancer, antidiabetic, and other activities.
