The course deals with methods of drug design. It combines knowledge and skills from the fields of Protein structure determination for their use in designing drugs for a particular target. The course puts emphasis on computational methods of drug design and uses cheminformatics, molecular modeling and structural bioinformatics for a three-dimensional molecule. The course displays the different and new methods of drug design through several case studies to highlight the role of medicinal chemists and to understand the field of drug design.
