Dr. Fatma Ahmed Mahmoud Mohamed and Ms. Heba Tawfiq Amin Abu Al-Rub obtain a patent from the UK Intellectual Property Office.

The College of Applied Medical Sciences in Al-Qurayyat, represented by Dr. Fatima Ahmed Mahmoud Mohamed and Ms. Heba Tawfiq Amin Abu Al-Rub from the Department of Clinical Laboratory Sciences, obtained a patent on 11/9/2024. It is noteworthy that the patent was granted by the Intellectual Property Office in the United Kingdom, which represented an innovative device based on artificial intelligence to detect colon cancer. The device relies on advanced algorithms to analyze biopsy samples or imaging data, as it works to classify tissues into: benign, pre-cancerous, or malignant. This innovation represents a qualitative leap in the field of endoscopic procedures, with the possibility of achieving great progress in making them fully automated, in addition to improving prediction capabilities to provide more efficient management of patient cases.
