Course Description
The course concludes the following essential items:Advanced organic spectroscopy describes especially nuclear magnetic resonance and mass spectrometry and its application. It concludes 1HNMR ,13C NMR, DEPT, 1H-1H COSY ,1H-13C HMQC, 1H-13C HMBC, MS and GC-MS. It gives a concise introduction to the physical background of each, describing how molecules interact with electromagnetic radiation., and how this information may be applied to the determination of the definite chemical structures. It also includes simple descriptions of instrumentation for NMR spectroscopy. 1HNMR and 13CNMR spectroscopy is used in differentiation between structural isomers of organic compounds. The course includes full study in 1H NMR ,13C NMR and 2D NMR analysis. Each chapter concludes with problems to test students understanding of advanced organic spectroscopy. Use of mass spectrometry to elucidate the exact structure of organic compounds
