A training program based on using the Six Thinking Hats strategy to develop life skills for early childhood student teachers
Abstract
The current research aimed to verify the effectiveness of a training program based on the use of the Six Thinking Hats strategy to develop life skills among early childhood student teachers. The current research used the semi-experimental approach with one group consists of (25) early childhood student teachers in six level at the College of Education,
Al-Jouf University, Saudi Arabia, for the academic year (2022-2023), and To achieve the objectives of the research, the life skills scale was prepared (prepared by the researcher), the scale consists of 38 paragraphs distributed among the four life skills which are (problem-solving, decision-making, Time-management and self-management), a training program based on six hats strategies, this program consists of 20 training sessions aiming to develop life skills among early childhood student teachers (prepared by the researcher), The results of the current research indicated that there are Statistically significant differences at the level of 0.01 between the average scores of early childhood student teachers in the pre and post standards of applying the program on the life skills scale in favor of the post measurement, and the gain ratio for the effectiveness of the six thinking hats strategy is greater than 1.2, which confirmed the effectiveness of using the six thinking hats strategy in developing The life skills of early childhood student teachers, this ratio has been extended and continued for two weeks after completing the application of the program.
