Abstract

Transient conjugate convection within flexible enclosure is examined numerically. Isoflux heat sources
mounted in a left wall of finite thermal conductivity while a right wall is assumed hyper-flexible. The
newly formed material affords a flexible surface with an adjusted elasticity, extremely thin, and several
thermal properties. For instance, a thin membrane layer protects the sensitive electronic segment where
the membrane acts highly elastic and influences by the fluid circulation. The finite element method (FEM)
was adopted to solve the governing partial differential equations, an arbitrary Lagrangian–Eulerian (ALE)
approach inherent in the unstructured mesh. Flexibility parameters including the thickness of heat source,
the number of heat source and the convection intensity are examined.
