Abstract

In this framework, lithium vanadium-borate 30Li2O-(20+x)V2O5-(50-x)B2O3 glasses encoded as LVB, x ranges
from 10 to 40 mol%, were synthesized. The thermal stability, the amorphous state and the surface morphology of
LVB glasses were determined via differential scanning calorimetry DSC, X-Ray diffraction XRD, and scanning
electron microscope SEM, respectively. FTIR and Raman spectra have provided information about the functional
groups. The energy of the bandgap was calculated, which decreased from 3.507 eV to 2.779 eV. The optical
constants, loss energy tanδ, sheet resistance Rsh, the coverage density D, and the figure of merit ϕ were all
calculated. The charge and discharge curves of glasses were discussed. Capacities during charging were measured
at 212, 197, 164.47, and 112 mAh/g. During discharge, capacities were measured at 290, 165, 147, and 112
mAh/g which represent the charge released per unit mass.
