Abstract
The present study aims to identify the relationship between positive
thinking, self - esteem, and life satisfaction among the female students of the
Faculty of Education, University of Jeddah. It also seeks to point out the level
of positive thinking among female students and indicate the extent to which
positive thinking can be predicted through self-esteem and life satisfaction.,
Descriptive Correlation method was adopted by the researcher to achieve the
objectives of the present research. Stratified random sampling technique was
applied to select a sample of (248) female students. Data was collected by the
following scales: Positive Thinking Scale by the researcher and Self-Esteem
Scale by Rosenberg and Life Satisfaction Scale by Scott Huebner The data
were analyzed using the statistical package of science through the
application of the following tests: T - test, Pearson correlation coefficient and
linear regression coefficient. The results indicated that the positive thinking
level is high among the undergraduate students. The study also showed a
statistically significant correlation between positive thinking, self-esteem and
life satisfaction at the level of (001). The positive thinking of the study sample
could be predicted through the degrees of life satisfaction. Based upon these
