Abstract

A novel technique is applied in this work to estimate the resonance characteristics of a chipless RFID tag built on a multi-patch backscatter. To monitor the backscatter, the RFID system uses the reader antenna and the chipless tag. Thus, the resonators can be detected in real environments. A chipless RFID tag consisting of four resonators, which is relying on a triangular patch antenna is also proposed. Moreover, we develop an RFID reader antenna based on ultra-wideband pulse (UWB-IR) which is able to interrogate the chipless tag through a UWB pulse. Experimental measurements obtained to validate the simulation results in an anechoic chamber environment
