The College of Applied Medical Sciences in Qurayyat registers a patent
Continuing its tradition of scientific excellence in innovation and patents, the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Qurayyat has registered a patent with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) for a group of faculty members. The patent, dated November 2, 2025, is for an innovative device called the AI-Driven Blood Fingerstick Analyzer. This design integrates hematological analysis techniques with precise, AI-powered sensor systems. It aims to develop a small, portable device (similar to a blood glucose meter) that analyzes a tiny drop of blood taken from the finger using a micro-cartridge. The blood drop is placed on the cartridge, which is then inserted into the device, similar to a portable blood glucose meter. The device analyzes vital blood indicators for the early detection of infections and inflammations in the body with high accuracy and speed, making it a smart and user-friendly diagnostic tool. It is also suitable for use in homes, pharmacies, healthcare facilities, and hospitals, providing immediate results that support rapid diagnosis and timely medical decision-making.
