Abstract

This study presents the development of a series of biobased polyestera- mides, labeled as PEAF1–3, via a greener approach, from bisfuranic diamine and commercially available aliphatic diesters of varied chain lengths. The resulting polymers showed reasonable molar masses, in accordance with inherent viscosities ranging between 0.19 and 0.35 dL/g. Evaluation of their thermal properties by thermogravimetric analysis and differential scanning calorimetry showcased excellent thermal stability (Td,max ≥ 335 °C), amor- phous character and low glass transition temperature (Tg) decreased with the increasing chain length. Moreover, notable finding was the exceptional stability of these polyesteramides against both hydrolytic and oxidative deg- radation processes. This resistance underscores their potential as highly sta- ble materials, making them promising for various applications where durability and resistance to degradation are crucial.
